Rose Memorial Cemetery & Beyond

Rose Memorial Cemetery & Beyond

Saturday, December 13 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM

Join us for a morning of birding at the Rose Memorial Cemetery!

We’ll be exploring this local hot spot with a keen eye for late-season migrants and possible overwintering rarities—and warming up for the upcoming Fort Bragg and Manchester Christmas Bird Counts.

Expect to see hummingbirds, woodpeckers, and warblers. Hopefully a surprise visitor or two. After about an hour or so in the cemetery, we’ll move to a nearby location to stretch our species list a bit further—aiming to bird until around noon.

When our binoculars need a break, we’ll head to Tall Guy Brewery for lunch and bird-themed board games. Good birds, good brews, and great company—what could be better?

Both walks will be easy and on mostly flat ground.

Heavy rain cancels.

Directions:

From Hwy 1 (Main Street), take Spruce Street East for 3 blocks. Park just outside the gatewhere we’ll meet at 9 AM and walk in together.
