MacKerricher State Park Field Trip
Saturday, February 14, 2026
8:00 AM – 12:00 NOON
Description: Join us for a semi-traditional February field trip to MacKerricher State Park. While it’s typically a slow month for birding on the coast, we can hope to see a variety of shorebirds off the rocks during the morning high tide, and then we will move to Lake Cleone to look for ducks and marsh residents. We may also check out the campgrounds for songbirds, woodpeckers, and whatever else we can find! The park hosts a large variety of habitats including a freshwater lake, open ocean, rocky headlands, sandy beaches, forests and coastal prairies, so it’s a great place to bird any time of year.
Meet at the Laguna Point Parking lot at 8:30am. Heavy rain cancels.
