East Africa on Steroids

7:00 PM February 20, 2012
Fort Bragg Town Hall
Main & Laurel, Fort Bragg
Speaker: Ed Harper

Be it close encounters with Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi's Impenetrable Forest or viewing the enigmatic Shoebill along the shores of Lake Victoria, there will be much to enjoy. Endangered species like Black Rhinoceros and Grevy's Zebra are shown up close. Various species of cats will be shown; you can even try to locate well-camouflaged Leopards in their habitat. There will be a plethora of birds with photos of kingfishers, rollers, birds of prey, bee-eaters, sunbirds, weavers, and many more combining to form a distinctive portion of this program.

Ed Harper is an avid photographer, birder, and intrepid traveler who has visited all the world's continents. He will share highlights of his extensive travels to Tanzania, Kenya, and Uganda where he has led safaris since 1992. He is a retired mathematics professor from American River College in Sacramento. His interest in birds began during his early childhood and he has photographed over 750 species of birds in North America and many more elsewhere. His photographs have appeared in many books and publications.

Audubon programs are open to the public at no charge. Donations to offset the cost of our educational activities are always welcomed.
